Nutrition Therapy

Just like in humans, proper nutrition plays a crucial role in managing medical conditions and promoting overall well-being in pets. Unbalanced diets can negatively impact growth, development, and long-term health, making tailored nutrition plans essential for optimal care.

Overview

Veterinary nutrition therapy includes commercial diet recommendations, weight loss plans, home-prepared diet formulation for individual patients, and evaluation of home-prepared diet recipes. Therapeutic nutrition can aid in managing conditions such as kidney disease, pancreatitis, orthopedic and mobility issues, skin allergies, obesity, urinary conditions, and gastrointestinal disorders.

During a nutrition consultation, a veterinarian will review your pet’s medical and diet history, body condition score (BCS), energy requirements, and lifestyle to develop a personalized plan. While we provide expert guidance on balanced nutrition, we do not formulate raw diets in accordance with CVMA guidelines. A well-planned diet can significantly enhance your pet’s health, performance, and quality of life.
