I chose a career in veterinary medicine because I want to make a difference for animals and the people who love them. I really enjoy helping pet owners feel confident that their pets are safe and well cared for. I’ve always had a strong interest in both medicine and animals, so being able to combine the two in my work is incredibly rewarding. I am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program with Ridgetown College

While I love many aspects of veterinary medicine, some of my biggest passions include parasites, behaviour, fear-free handling, and advocating for dogs who may be muzzle-trained, reactive, or misunderstood. I also have a strong interest in microbiology and radiography, and I enjoy continuing to learn more about these areas as I grow in my career.

At home, I have a busy and wonderful group of pets. I share my home with five animals, including two clinic surrenders: my Presa Canario named Cthulhu and my Sphynx cat named Fiona. My oldest companion is Maui, my 13-year-old Chocolate Labrador. I also have three “foster fail” cats — Booker, Ophelia, and Eleanor — who quickly became permanent members of the family. They all keep life interesting and remind me every day why I love working in veterinary medicine.
